* PLEASE NOTE - LED TV is a brighter backlighting system of LCD TV - NOT a new type of TV, albeit coupled with more modern picture drivers, it provides a stunning, clear and brighter image than other LCD TVs which previously used, in essence, flourescent lighting.
OLED is a new type of TV, but completely different to the so called LED TV which can sometimes, misleadingly be advertised and described as a new type of TV system. Don't be mislead by websites, advertising and inexperienced sales people.
Just scroll down and view the many other items of interesting NEWS from around the globe.
As detailed, your choice also includes the above TV formats with 4K Ultra HDTV
[The very latest quality - 4 times more pixels for greater definition than FULL HD - 2 million pixels Ultra HD - 8 million pixels]

By Despite the expansion of Google Fiber to a third and fourth city?Austin, Texas; and Provo, Utah?Google Inc. is set to remain a minor player in the U.S. broadband market, with the company unlikely to deploy the service nationwide due its high cost, according to a new report from the IHS Screen Digest Operator Multiplay Intelligence at information and analytics provider IHS.
IHS believes Google Fiber will be offered only in smaller markets such as in the two new cities, which collectively have a population of about 1.4 million and roughly 600,000 households; as well as in Kansas City, Kan.; and Kanas City, Mo. The cities represent only about 0.4 percent of U.S. households, so even if Google managed to secure a high market share in these metropolitan areas, it would reach only about 0.2 percent of U.S. homes with the service.

By Mike HowardA worst-case scenario in which North Korea attacks its neighbor to the south and engulfs the region in war would inflict devastating damage to the global electronics supply chain, ravaging top memory producers Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix while crippling devices like smartphones and PCs, according to a DRAM Dynamics market brief from information and analytics provider IHS.
Fully 66 percent of industry revenue for the dynamic random access memory (DRAM) market, as well as 48 percent of total NAND flash revenue, belonged in 2012 to just the two South Korean memory titans. While the combined share of both in the NAND market has remained fairly level for the last three years, the collective share in DRAM of the two entities has been steadily rising.

By Sweta DashA few years ago, 3-D TV came onto the market with tremendous hype and promise to transform how people watch TV.
It didn?t happen.
Instead, faced with a lack of content, high pricing and inconvenient technology, 3-D never emerged from a niche status?a situation that continues today. Many now predict the same fate for ultra-high-definition (UHD) television.
But having learned from past mistakes, TV suppliers are gearing up to make UHD TV a success, determined not to repeat the mistakes they made with 3-D. According to IHS, the current outlook shows suppliers shipping some 20.8 million UHD TV panels by 2017.
When 3-D debuted, brands touted the technology as big of a shift like moving to color from black-and-white. It also provided hope for brands to differentiate their products, to gain a competitive advantage and to increase profitability.

By Richard Dixon, PhDCombo microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensors for automotive applications are off to another exhilarating ride this year as revenue continues to climb, spurred by rapidly accelerating use in car safety systems, according to an IHS iSuppli MEMS & Sensors report from information and analytics provider IHS.
Global revenue in 2013 for combo inertial sensors used in motor vehicles will reach a projected $163 million, up a notable 77 percent from $92 million last year. The anticipated increase continues a hot streak for the market, which saw a phenomenal 338 percent surge last year from just $10 million in 2011.
Combo inertial sensors are multiple-sensor devices integrating accelerometers, gyroscopes into a single package, providing inertial inputs to the electronic stability control (ESC) system in cars to prevent or minimize skidding.
